If you're a woman with unwanted facial hair you aren't alone. In fact, 41% of women experience unwanted facial hair. It has many causes, including hormonal changes, reactions to certain medications, underlying medical disorders and normal ethnic variations. It can range from fine, nearly invisible hairs to dark, coarse-textured hairs on the upper lip, chin, cheeks or neck. And, unwanted facial hair is a "silent" and embarrassing problem for women of many ages. Traditionally, women have considered facial hair as unfeminine, especially if it is coarse or dark.
Unwanted hair on the body is also a concern and a majority of women are also bothered by the amount of time they spend shaving their legs. And, some women resort to daily shaving to maintain the appearance of silky, smooth skin. Current methods of hair removal are effective, but can be time-consuming, expensive and irritating to the skin.
Scientists at Johnson & Johnson recently made an important discovery. When soy is processed carefully to retain the benefit of its natural ingredients, soy-containing moisturizers actually minimize the appearance of unwanted hair, making hair look finer, feel softer, and look less noticeable. In one clinical study, volunteers using AVEENO® POSITIVELY SMOOTH® Moisturizing Lotion found that within 2 weeks, the hair on their legs was softer and finer, while their skin tone and texture was visibly softer and smoother.
